List Building Is Great But Then What?
By adminSeems everybody and their brother these days has a new Ebook ,video, over priced launch product about how to build a list…it’s gotten crazy! YES, it’s important to build a list, but how many people know what to do next?
How many ways can you rehash the same subject? I mean look, at it’s core what you’re doing is running an ad somewhere whether it be pay per click, solo ad, or whatever.
When your prospect arrives to your blog, lead capture page or website and your ad copy prompted them to opt in, then you just built your list…You either started it, or added to it. Some people try to really over complicate things to make you feel like you got your moneys worth don’t they?
Yea, there’s more to it than that, but essentially, that’s the jist of it!
HOWEVER, what many courses seem to completely overlook is how to “manage” your list once it’s built (which is really the MAIN part)
You worked hard to get subscribers, now you must work harder to KEEP THEM. You know, it amazes me when I see how some marketers treat their list. They treat them like a big ol fat piggy bank.
Sure, the reason we list build is to send offers in the hopes we make a sale, but these guys who send 4 and 5 emails PER DAY are just nuts! It’s all sell, sell, sell with little to NO freebies or solid content.
This to me is disgusting…This says to me, OK this guy only cares about me filling his pockets and can care less about me. I guarantee if you treat your list like you don’t care, you will seemass unsubscribes after every mailing you do!
Send out some freebies whether it’s PLR articles, PLR products, some software, videos…something to make your subscriber feel compelled to stay on your list.
Interact with them, email out surveys, ask questions of what they want, their likes or dislikes. Acting like you care and standing out from the crowd will take you far!
Make your letters short, don’t send out a “book” because people won’t read it all. You know how people skim websites right? Well, they’ll skim your letters too so get to the point quickly.
How often do you mail? I say make your ratio of free content to a commissionable offers like 5 to 1. Send out 5 mailings of pure free content whatever it is, then make that next one an affiliate offer or whatever you wish to sell.
Nothing will turn off a subsciber faster than a person just wanting money all the time. Some people will debate this part, but it’s something you just have to get a feel for.
This can take some time and experimentation, so tinker with getting things right. Go look for some free giveaway offers you have the rights to give away. Be creative because the more you give the more you receive!
That’s all for now
